There is no rain forecast for today, the last day of September, and if that prediction holds true, Missoula will have made it through the entire month without seeing a drop. According to the US National Weather Service (which maintains a record database back to 1893), Missoula has only made it through one other month without precipitation and that was back in August 1967.

Perhaps even more startling is the fact that Missoula is only days away from it's longest streak without rain ever. If there is no rain on either Monday or Tuesday, Missoula will break the 42 day precipitation-free record which goes all the way back to 1896.

The last drop of rain fell in Missoula on Wednesday, August 22.
