Following the Grizzlies’ heroic comeback and subsequent heartbreaking loss to Sam Houston State on Friday night, you probably spent your weekend sulking around the house, too depressed to join in the festive spirit of all the bustling holiday shoppers. Problem is, this week is your last chance to seek out the perfect gift for that special lady friend of yours — a task you know could literally take hours. Shopping for women can be as complicated as women themselves, but all we really want is something thoughtful. With a little help from this guide, you’ll be hitting up the gift-wrapping station in no time.

If she’s girly: Does she match her eye shadow to her outfit? Then she’ll love a few new colors to try out. One of the best gifts I ever received from a guy was a nice make-up bag filled with several varieties of lip gloss and scented lotion. Just make sure you steer clear of products designed to cover flaws. As a rule of thumb, avoid items with words like “concealer” or “corrector” in the title. Shopping suggestions: Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Smooch Cosmetic Boutique.

If she’s sporty: Does she embrace winter recreation with arms wide open? Cold-weather gear always makes a great holiday gift. Guessing clothing sizes can be tricky, but with items like headbands, hats, gloves and scarves, you should be pretty safe. Find her a matching set in her favorite color, and throw in a pack of hand warmers for good measure. Shopping suggestions: Bob Wards, REI, Runner’s Edge.

If she’s stressed: Has she been feeling bogged down by work or school lately? Give her the gift of stress relief with a massage or spa package. Her mood will instantly go from blah to “ahh…” Shopping suggestions: Bella Sauvage, Sorella’s, Montana School of Massage.

If she’s funny: Does she have “SNL: The Best of Will Ferrell” memorized word-for-word? Is she constantly cracking everyone up with her quirky sense of humor? Get her something that will tickle her funny bone, like a magnetic poetry kit or a snarky T-shirt. Shopping suggestions: Rockin Rudy’s, Betty’s Divine, Hastings.
