No one expects to wake up in the morning and see a stranger in their bedroom, but that's what happened to one Missoula couple early this morning, September 12.

"It happened at 3:27 a.m. officers were called to a residence in the 1500 block of River Road for a male who had forced entry into a home and was being physically detained by one of the residents there," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Nathaniel Madplume."

According to Welsh, the couple woke up and saw the man, "standing over their bed." The husband jumped out of bed, grabbed the suspect and took him out to the living room while they waited for police to arrive.

"The officers made sure there were no injuries, and transported Mr. Madplume to jail where he is being held on one count of burglary. He [Madplume] claimed that he had lived in the area at one time, he claimed that he had lived nearby."

Welsh said officers reported that Madplume was "intoxicated" during the incident. Madplume was also charged with possession of marijuana, but it is unclear what substance Madplume was using at the time.
