Minions and Other Characters Take Over Ronan

Each year, drivers who pass through Ronan on US 93 in the Flathead Valley are treated to some great scenes created from those big, round hay bales.

It's time for the annual Ronan Harvest Fest Hay Bale Contest. The hay bales are sponsored by individual businesses and line the highway, making drivers slow down a little to enjoy the creativity.

I've seen these creations for a number of years now and I'm always pleasantly surprised. This set of bales includes those popular movie characters, the Minions (see photo), Red - one of the Angry Birds, a tennis shoe, a piggy bank, an owl, an outer space scene, a robot, a goose and more.

Visit Ronan! It's worth the drive to see the roadside attractions!
