Missoula Police arrested a man and woman early Monday morning sitting in a stolen car in a parking lot on Expo Way.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Travis Welsh said a female police officer noticed a car that had been reported stolen was in the parking lot in the North Reserve Street area.

“She came upon the vehicle that she had prior knowledge of,” said Welsh. “She made contact with two individuals inside the vehicle in the 3000 block of Expo Park Way and identified them as 37 year-old Merlyn Snyder and 33 year-old Shawn Field. She determined that both individuals had outstanding warrants against them and they were taken into custody. The officers then were able to confirm that the vehicle in question had indeed been stolen, and both have been charged with felony theft of the vehicle.”
