Is anyone else annoyed by selfies? I probably wouldn’t mind them so much if they were a rare occurance. However, it seems that I can’t go one day without seeing a handful of selfies.

I will admit that the vast majority of selfies I see are of women. Apparently we ladies just can’t get enough of ourselves. The time we spend in front of the mirror isn’t enough. We have to snap pics of ourselves and post them online so everyone else can see how good we look today.

The seductive selfie is the one that I like the least. Usually it is taken by a woman laying her head on a pillow or leaning back in a chair. She gives a come-hither look and has a half lip pout. For some reason in these pics, they always seem to be squinting. Almost as though it’s a bit painful to try and hold their arm so far away and still try and look so good.

I have also noticed that some selfies are taken not to show off how good someone looks, but to show off where someone is. There is always a tag like, “me and my bestie at someplace awesome,” or, “just me and the kiddos hanging out some other place that is also awesome.” Pretty much they are trying to say, “Hey, look at us! Our lives rock! Jealous?”

I will admit that I have taken one selfie in my life. However, in my defense, I was only doing it because there was a guy standing behind me who looked like a mini Dog the Bounty Hunter and I was really trying to get a picture of him, but didn’t want to make it obvious that I was trying to do so.
