Kim Kardashian has joined the chorus of celebrity voices speaking out about the violence that has rocked America with the shootings of Alton Sterling, Phillando Castile and police officers in Dallas.

In an open letter titled "#BlackLivesMatter," Kardashian pledged her unwavering support to the Black Lives Matter movement, talked about the future of her children with husband Kanye West, and called on people to use their voices powerfully.

"I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter,” the reality star said in the letter, which was posted to her site on July 8. "I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust—the people who "protect and serve"—may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin."

She added that "we can't fuel anger with hate," which was presumably referencing the officers who were gunned down last night in Dallas during a protest against police violence.

"We must peacefully use the power of our voices and the strength of our numbers to demand changes in the judicial system so that brutality doesn't ever go unpunished," she urged.

The letter's tone was urgent, as she emphasized that we must do something now, "until we are heard and real, effective changes are made."

She closed the letter by listing the names of victims of police violence, including Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland.

"Hashtags are not enough," she wrote in closing, "This must end now."

The letter ended with links to donate to the families of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling as well as a link to contact local legislators.
