What they say about the weather in Montana is true. If you don’t like it just wait five minutes and it will change.

This cold snap we’re having is making me a little frustrated. I had just gotten used to running in the 80 and 90 degree heat, when all of a sudden the high weather for the week is 60 degrees and rainy.

So, instead of running outside, and enjoying this beautiful place we live, I’m stuck inside running on a treadmill. I feel like a hamster on a wheel. I think it’s way too soon to have to dust off the old treadmill. It’s been doing a great job of holding clothes, and I wasn’t quite ready to bring it out of retirement just yet.

I’m hopeful that the weather will change, and we will actually have a fall. I really would love some nice 70 degree weather to run in. I long to run on the Clark Fork River front trail while leaves are gently falling around me and local softball teams are playing in McCormick Park.

I fear that this cold snap may just turn into an early winter. If that happens I will be forced to make peace with my old, noisy and boring treadmill or I will have to adjust to running in a parka and long johns.
