Let’s face it, from explicit lyrics to scantily clothed artists to racy videos, sex is a part of the musical marketing landscape. Case in point, and mind you I love this song,  but would we have even heard of “Blurred Lines” if it wasn’t introduced to us by a bevy of gorgeous models dancing naked?  Of course that version of the video was eventually taken down from Youtube, but only after all the news about it got us to listen!

Does Adam Levine use his barely clothed promotional pics to keep Maroon 5  in the public eye? Are Rihanna’s flesh-flashing outfits and barley clothed selfies helping her sell records? And who can stop watching Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” video? Now that is taking twerking to a whole new level!!! Even the extremely talanted singer/songwriter Bonnie McKee, who's responsible for some of the biggest hits of recent years, just dropped the video to her  "American Girl" and guess what – there's a lot of skimpy clothing and sex appeal. Why not? She's pretty and sexy along with being so talented. What do you think?  Would you love you favorite artists as much without all the skin?  Hit me up on Facebook at In The Mix with HK or twitter @HowardHKKessler with your thoughts.
