The Billings City Council is scheduled to consider an ordinance that would ban medical marijuana storefronts in the city.

The council is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday. There will be no public hearing on the ordinance at the meeting.

The council passed an emergency 90-day ban on such businesses on July 5, but a judge issued a temporary restraining order on July 22 suspending that ordinance. Medical marijuana providers argued that the council passed an emergency ordinance when there was no emergency.

A hearing on that lawsuit has not been held.
