The Missoula County Coroner's office has released the name of the man who was killed on Thursday evening after suffering a fatal fall from the top of the Palace Hotel.

Detective Sergeant Scott Newell with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Shaman Godkin, 35, a long-time resident of Missoula.

The circumstances surrounding Godkin's death are still unclear, although detectives say no foul play seems to have been involved.

Police responded to the incident Thursday evening at about 6 p.m. after receiving reports that a man had fallen from the roof of the four-story Palace Hotel at the corner of Broadway and Ryman in downtown, Missoula.
