I Found Out This Weekend, I am Not an Electrician

For months now for some reason I have an electrical outlet in my bathroom that only works periodically. It's random as to when it will work and when it won't. Although for some strange reason it doesn't work more than it actually works. This past weekend I had a little free time on my Sunday, so I thought I would just replace the outlet.

I got started by testing the power, everything seemed normal. So I just switched out the outlet itself, really simple just a few screws and the job was done. Unfortunately that didn't fix the issue, the outlet still wasn't working. At that point I had done everything I knew how to do to fix the problem. And when it comes to electricity, I refuse to "learn as I go". I don't want to ruin my home or send myself to the emergency room.

It sounds like I will be calling an electrician out to fix what I couldn't. I cannot wait for the day when I don't have to call a professional for help. It's not so much about the money, it's the man ego in me.
