There are literally dozens of us who miss HBO’s Duplass-fueled Togetherness, but don’t count the pair anywhere off the network just yet. Instead, they’re checking in again to a new anthology series dubbed Room 104, following the comings-and-goings of a solitary hotel room. So, American Duplass Story: Hotel, basically.

HBO confirms the new series will start production later this year for a 2017 release, described as “Set in a single room of an average American hotel, ROOM 104 tells a different story of the assorted characters who pass through it in each episode.” Says the Duplasses (Duplassi?) themselves:

We’ve all seen stories set in seedy motels and high-class international resorts, but for years we’ve been fascinated by the funny, weird, sad, scary, absurd things going down in that corporate chain hotel near the airport. That’s what ROOM 104 is after… finding some magic in the seemingly mundane.

There’s certainly merit to the idea (enough that it’s been done before), and HBO could use a good swing for 2017, but might the Duplass brothers have any better luck than with their last HBO live-action series?
