Stand up! Ludacris turns 40 years old today (Sept. 11).

When he first came into the scene, Ludacris was already a fully developed package. His performance on "Southern Hospitality" over one of the Neptunes most banging beats showed his mix of undeniable charisma and slight weirdness. The latter translated to his videos, too, like the human-sized necklace in the visual for "Stand Up."

Ludacris couldn't miss throughout the millennium. All of his albums before Ludaversal went at least gold -- five hit the platinum mark. Hits like "My Chick Bad" with Nicki Minaj, "Move Bitch" and "What's Your Fantasy" will automatically ring bells. Plus, he appeared on the century's biggest hits; of course he'd be the rapper on Justin Bieber's "Baby" and Usher's "Yeah."

In 2010, he moved his focus away from music to other endeavors, specifically acting, entrepreneurship and hosting. Ludacris appeared in 2005's Academy Award-winning Crash, and starred in a multi-billion dollar franchise Fast & Furious.
