It's been a year of ups and downs for Iggy Azalea. But today (June 7) is a good day for the "Fancy" rapper. The Australia native celebrates her 25th birthday.

Azalea originally, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, caught people's attention with the raunchy "PU$$Y" video back in 2011. The song was featured on her mixtape Ignorant Art, which also had guest appearances from fellow rappers YG, Chevy Jones and Problem.

The following year, Azalea became the first female rapper to be featured on the cover of XXL magazine's Freshmen Class issue. In 2013, the "Murda Bizness" rapper aimed for the Billboard charts. "Work" and "Change Your Life" were both decent hits, but neither were strong enough to convince her label to stop delaying her debut album.

Then "Fancy" came with Charli XCX singing infectious hook. The song earned Azalea her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart. Her debut album, The New Classic, was released in April 2014 and got a whole heap of hate.

The idea of an Australian mimicking a southern hip-hop accent to make a commercial hit rubbed many the wrong way. Azealia Banks, who's been against Azalea before "Fancy," was one of the most prominent slanderers of the Aussie rhymer.

But Azalea somehow weathered the storm but not without some collateral damage. She recently scrapped The Great Escape Tour because she needed a mental break.

Despite a few setbacks, Azalea is happy and in love. The "Bounce" rapper recently got engaged to Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young.

We want to wish Iggy Azalea a wonderful 25th birthday today.
