In recent years, studios have begun putting their special Comic-Con teasers and sizzle reels online in an effort to combat piracy — although the footage is meant to be a Comic-Con exclusive, they’d rather let the fans at home see it the way it was intended instead of watching a blurry, shaky version that someone recorded on a cell phone. Even still, there are some pieces of footage that don’t make their way online, like the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser. If you’re wondering why you haven’t been able to see it, James Gunn has an answer.

No, it’s not necessarily because Marvel is being stingy with it. As Gunn explains in a new Facebook video, the answer has a lot more to do with his own pride. Describing himself as a “perfectionist,” Gunn says:

Of course I wanna share with you guys everything, it’s important for me to be able to do that. But here’s the thing, the footage we released at Comic-Con will eventually be seen by the public, but in a more finished form. It’s very early days. We’ve only been finished shooting for a month, we presented an entire huge scene with Yondu and Rocket and Baby Groot and then we also presented some special glimpse for San Diego Comic-Con, a teaser trailer of sorts. The visual effects are not finished.

So there you have it. If you weren’t at Comic-Con over the weekend, then you’ll still get to see that crowd-pleasing teaser soon enough — you know, just not right this second.

In other Guardians news, Gunn also shared a new photo that shows off the various Ravagers featured in Vol. 2 and includes several familiar faces:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Kurt Russell and Elizabeth Debicki, and hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
