In what turned out to be a last-second nail-biter, the Montana Grizzlies had to kick a field goal with two seconds left to take home an 18-15 win over North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Montana was up 15-0 with about four minutes left in the game before North Dakota scored two quick touchdowns and a two point conversion to tie the game.

After the Grizzlies blocked a low field goal attempt, they drove down near the goal line and lined up for a short field goal attempt by Dan Sullivan, who had already missed one field goal and an extra point. Sullivan knocked it through to give the victory to Montana, now 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play.

Starting quarterback Jordan Johnson suffered an ankle injury early in the second quarter and was on crutches at the end of the game, but senior back-up Shay Smithwick-Hann engineered two touched drives, and tossed a beautiful pass to Jamal Jones in the fourth quarter that set up the winning field goal.

The Griz now mercifully have a bye week to heal up the team's many injuries.
