Even the world's most sought-after supermodels have to contend with body-shaming, but Gigi Hadid isn't taking cheap shots lying down.

The in-demand muse, who's so far walked for Prabal Gurung, Jeremy Scott and more top designers this season, posted a rebuttal on social media Sunday (February 11) to criticism from fans who say she's too fat, too skinny or any other degree of imperfect. She noted that a certain condition has made it particularly difficult to remain one size or shape, even when her diet and routine are consistent.

"For those of you so determined to come up w why my body has changed over the years, you may not know that when I started @ 17 I was not yet diagnosed w/Hashimoto’s disease; those of u who called me “too big for the industry” were seeing inflammation & water retention due to that," she began.

"I will not further explain the way my body looks, just as anyone, with a body type that doesnt suit ur 'beauty' expectation, shouldnt have to. Not to judge others, but drugs are not my thing, stop putting me in that box just because u dont understand the way my body has matured."

And fans gave Hadid snaps for her honesty.

"you are amazing gigi, and are doing a great job every time. Don't listen to mean people," one wrote, while another noted "I learned to love my body the way it is, to love the fact that we all have different bodies, to care less if someone says I’m too thin and to stay healthy even if the circumstances make it difficult."
