Finally! Planetarium Shows for Missoula!

A summer of stars is planned for the University of Montana Star Gazing Room.

The UM Department of Physics and Astronomy will have Friday shows each month in June, July and August at the Payne Family Native American Center Star Gazing Room.

The Star Gazing Room has been used and, according to a UM news release, is "booked" through the end of May with school groups and private groups. Similar summer shows are now being scheduled, besides the Friday public shows.

The planetarium can seat up to 25 people and there will be two Friday shows - at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Each show will last about 50-minutes and will include current Western Montana night skies and the latest information on various NASA planetary missions.

The admission price is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. With only 25 people per show, you might want to order early. The public shows will be June 12 and 26, July 10 and 24, and August 14 and 28. You can purchase them online at UM, using this website link.
