The Missoula County Elections Office will be holding a drive-through event on Thursday for voters to drop off their absentee ballots for the special federal election at the Missoula County Fairgrounds election office.

Administrator Rebecca Connors wants voters to get their absentee ballots in as soon as possible.

"We're holing a drop-off event for voters to drop off their absentee ballots on Thursday from 9 to 5:30," Connors said. "It's a great way for us to get ballots back before election day. We try to have a large number of ballots counted by that 8:00 p.m. deadline when we release results so that we have a really good idea where the candidates stand, so that even is Thursday at the fairgrounds."

Connors also said the elections headquarters will be open special hours this Saturday, just a few days before the May 25 election.

"We have extended hours at the election center on Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm, so if you can't make it to the fairgrounds before the weekend then we have the extended hours from 8 to 1," she said. "We're also open regular hours from 8 to 5 on weekdays, however, next Wednesday the 24th, everything closes statewide, so we encourage everyone to get to our office before that noon deadline on Wednesday."

Connors reminds voters to visit the My Voter Page website to get details on the changes in polling place locations for this election.
