Drake is on the winning side of both beefs and album sales. The rapper's If You're Reading This It's Too Late has been named the first album released in 2015 to reach platinum status.

After the record sold 8,000 more copies last week, If You're Reading This It's Too Late has now garnered a total of 1.007 million units, Nielsen Music reports.

The Toronto singer and rapper surprised everyone with the release of his new LP on Feb. 12, which he dropped unexpectedly. Even though he released the album without warning, this didn't stop Drizzy devotees from purchasing the project and taking it to the top of the Billboard 200 chart after its first week of being out. Plus, every song on the effort (17 in all) earned a spot on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart shortly after it was released.

If You're Reading This It's Too Late is technically the second album to sell a million units this year. Taylor Swift's 1989 is the first. However, it was dropped in 2014.

Drake is clearly not a stranger to million-selling records. If You're Reading This It's Too Late is the fourth title of his to go over that mark.

After finding out the news, Drake celebrated the achievement with a post on Instagram thanking everyone for the support. "Platinum off the tape. Views up next. Thank you once again," he wrote along with emojis of wads of cash.
