Star Wars fans rejoice! Donald Glover has been cast to play the young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff film.

Starwars.com made the official announcement on Friday (Oct. 21). The untitled Han Solo Star Wars film will be directed by filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Glover will star opposite Alden Ehrenreich who will play the young Solo, a role originally made iconic by Harrison Ford.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Lord and Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

Glover will be the second actor to play Calrissian in the Star Wars series. Billy Dee Williams first inhabited the role of the caped administer of Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back who later became a rebel hero in Return of the Jedi. In the Han Solo project, Lando is depicted in his formative years before he even met Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Darth Vader. The untitled Han Solo film is scheduled to be release in 2018.

Glover is currently garnering critical acclaim for his juggernaut FX series Atlanta.
