One thing is for sure, Missoula loves it's animals! So, I'm sure the 'Dog Days of Summer' event coming up this Saturday at Paradise Falls on Brooks Street in Missoula will be a barking good time. The event is being put on by Animeals and is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 3621 Brooks Street, even better news that the weather should be beautiful for the event.

Last year Animeals was approached by Sergeant Bierfreund of the Missoula Armed Forces Reserve Center about building dog houses if they could provide the materials. Animeals provided the pallets and 7 dog houses were built! Since then 7 local artists turned the houses into pieces of art and will be auctioned off at the event.

There will be music by 406, live and silent auction, lots of raffle items, food, drinks, and lots of fun for the entire family. The dog houses are available to see at the host locations which are: Paradise Falls, Ace Hardware in the Tremper’s Shopping Center, Kendall Jan Jubb Art Gallery, Rosauers, The Source Fitness Center and Dale’s Dairy.

The artists that were working on the dog houses for this tremendous event are: Marilyn Schmidt, Lillian Nelson, Mary Morrison, Kendahl Jan Jubb, Jeff and Mills Hobirk. It sounds like a great time to be had on Saturday, hope to see you out there!
