Diddy Is No Longer Facing Felony Charges in UCLA Coach Assault, But Case Isn’t Over Yet
According to TMZ, the District Attorney in Los Angeles has rejected the felony case. Diddy was initially arrested for aggravated assault and making terrorist threats against the assistant coach of the UCLA football team. The felony case was disposed of because the D.A. felt it was weak. Now, the prosecutors can decide if the case will be bumped to a lesser offense, such as misdemeanor assault.
The case stems from a June 22 incident in which Diddy allegedly wielded a kettlebell during an altercation with the football coach after watching his son, Justin, practice during a strength and conditioning session.
Diddy's family has supported him throughout the situation. Both Justin and his stepson Quincy came out publicly to stand by their father's side. “Hiccups happen in life. You push that to the side. You worry about that later,” Quincy said at the 2015 BET Awards red carpet. "We’re supporting the family, supporting my dad."
