Despite Bad Weather, Dragon Boat Races a Success

Despite chilly temperatures and strong winds, I think the 2^nd annual Montana Dragon Boat Festival was a success. The boats were pulled off the water just before lunch in one of the top 10 largest dragon boat festivals in North America.

I paddled with the competitive team Imperial Dragons. The Flathead Brewing Company Team made of bar patron, beer lovers and brewers.

My team of 20 paddlers, a drummer (disguised as a beer keg) and a steerer placed 18^th out of 90 plus teams. I am now hooked on this sport and can’t wait until my paddle hits the waters of Flathead Lake next year.

I would defiantly recommend trying dragon boating. It’s a great workout… and you meet a bunch of amazing people!
