After hosting a recent and already classic episode of Saturday Night Live and whetting everyone's appetites for more of his brilliance, it's just been announced that Dave Chappelle will have three new comedy specials coming out on Netflix.

Besides a tweet from the company and a press statement, there isn't much known about the upcoming specials, but a lot of folks are surely going to be thrilled since the famed funnyman hasn't had a show like this since 2004's For What It's Worth.

If you didn't know, this is Netflix's second big move in the comedy space this year, recently inking a deal with Chris Rock for $40 million dollars for two specials. Obviously, the company is expecting a colossal sized return on their investments and they expect Rock, as well as Chappelle's shows to bring in major numbers.

"Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital and now more than ever, essential," said Netflix's VP Lisa Nishimura. "Dave's three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy."

So far, there hasn't been any word on when we'll see the specials, but hopefully at least one will be released in the first half of 2017.
