Okay, so I have to admit, the last person I’ve been on a date with was my husband on our anniversary. I am by no means the expert on this subject. However, I do have single friends, and have been appalled at some of the things I’ve heard from them. I thought it would be a good idea to write a little guide of do’s and don’ts  to remind the daters out there what is appropriate behavior for a date.

Do have one drink to settle your nerves and help you relax.

Don’t have one too many drinks and end up weeping uncontrollably while talking about your ex.

Do use your best manners and be on your best behavior. Use manners that would make your mom proud.

Don’t try to impress her by telling her what she needs and ordering for her.

Do offer to pay the bill, unless she offers to split it with you.

Don’t insist that, “this ride ain’t free,” and she needs to pay her own way.

Do be a good listener. Nothing is sexier than a man that listens.

Don’t blab on endlessly about yourself and how great you are.

Do be yourself. Your date wants to get to know the real you.

Don’t be someone you’re not. Nobody likes thinking they are biting into an apple only to find out it’s really an onion.

These are by no means the only rules you should follow when looking for love, but they are a good place to start.
