The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards held it's 17th annual State Awards Ceremony on Sunday in Washington, D.C. where two of Montana's top young volunteers were honored for 2012.

Sixteen-year-old Iko'tsimiskimaki (“Ekoo”) Beck of Missoula was honored for creating a program to prevent bullying with training workshops and after-school clubs in high schools, middle schools and elementary schools across the area.

Emily Jones, 13, of Stevensville was honored for her work with an organization that makes and serves a free dinner every week in hope of encouraging families to eat together.

Each won $1,000, a silver medallion and a trip to Washington, D.C.

Awesome award package aside, Ekoo and Emily were also congratulated by New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Way to go ladies! Now, who'll become the first female president, Ekoo or Emily?!? :-D
