The Bitterroot National Forest is reporting a size of 202 acres for the Observation Fire on the edge of Lost Horse Canyon. The measurement Sunday evening showed growth to the northwest, above Lost Horse Observation Point.

Four helicopters are dropping water and ground crews are fighting the fire in steep, rocky terrain, according to Joni Lubke of the Bitterroot Forest.

There are some area closures and visitors can expect fire traffic on Lost Horse Road.

Fire danger on the Bitterroot National Forest is still "Moderate," but officials expect that danger to increase this week with hot, dry weather predicted.
