Billy Ray Cyrus Gets a New Role on TV Sitcom
Billy Ray Cyrus is going to star in a new CMT sitcom called ''Still the King''. So, this is your warning, clean our your DVR now because you know this is going to be something you have to watch! He will play Vernon Brown, a one-hit wonder who was kicked out of country music only to return 20 years later as an Elvis impersonator. Vernon also impersonates a minister and discovers he has a 15-year-old daughter he’s never met.
The "Achy Breaky Heart" hitmaker will play the main character on the new show due to debut in early 2016. He is also credited as a writer and executive producer.
The network's chief also gushes about Miley Cyrus' father, "Billy Ray has had a solid and lucrative life on American television. This is a passion project for him. He's put some things in the show that parallel his own life and family."
I'm just excited that it isn't another Kardashian show!
