I had no idea but later this week we will experience the busiest day of the year for car thieves.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau says New Year's Eve is the most popular day for stolen cars. 20% of all holiday auto thefts each year occur on December 31st.

The Bureau says, "People get drunk on New Year's and that makes many otherwise ordinary, responsible adults act like mindless morons and do things they might not do when sober."

Christmas Day has the lowest theft rates for a holiday.

Just another reason to leave your car at home, away from the eye of prowlers.
