Another hip-hop couple bites the dust. Big Sean and Ariana Grande are no longer walking down lover's lane. The couple announced their breakup on Monday (April 20) by releasing a joint statement.

"They both care deeply for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time," the statement reads according to E!.

The former lovebirds apparently ended their relationship a few weeks ago after eight months of dating due to their demanding performing schedules. "They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year,” a source told Us Weekly.

Sean, 27, and Grande, 21, were romantically linked in August of 2014, when rumors surfaced that the two were dating. They were caught holding hands at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, which only added fuel to the rumor fire. Grande confirmed she was dating Sean in October of that year, stating she thinks "the world of him" and "he’s an amazing person." The Dark Sky Paradise creator has said “she brings out the best in me," when speaking about his love for his former girlfriend.

The "Love Me Harder" singer was seeing Australian crooner Jai Brooks before she was connected to the "Blessed" rapper, who was once engaged to actress Naya Rivera. Since their split seems amicable, it doesn't look like we'll be hearing any "IDFWU"-style records describing this breakup anytime soon.
