Daniel Craig Apparently Offered $150 Million to Keep Playing Bond
Remember way back when people criticized Daniel Craig’s casting as James Bond, with some even saying he was too blond for the role? Well, the times have changed, and with Sony searching for new some new blood to eventually fill 007’s shoes, it looks like they’re willing to pay Craig the big bucks to stick around for a few more installments.
Here’s the Electric Trailer for John Travolta’s ‘Life on the Line’
The best thing about John Travolta is that he commits to his performances. Whether he’s a Brooklyn disco fiend, or leaning in to the campiness as O.J. Simpson’s lawyer, or a woman married to Christopher Walken, he’s sincere even when he’s over the top.
Could This Video Be Viral Marketing for ‘Blair Witch’?
The Blair Witch Project was such a success partly because of the film’s marketing-- even though we all know it’s not, a lot of it’s popularity came about because of the insistence that it was all real. Now it looks like the surprise sequel Blair Witch might be capitalizing on that phenomenon with a new viral marketing plan.
The New ‘Max Steel’ Trailer Is Like a Young Adult Iron Man
Last week, the first trailer for Max Steel came as a complete surprise to, well, everyone. The live-action film adaptation of the Mattel-toy-turned-cartoon hasn’t exactly been in the press a whole lot since its first promotional images came out more than two years ago, but now it looks like something is finally happening.
There’s Going to Be a Sci-Fi Version of ‘Spartacus’
It’s the reboot we’ve all been waiting for: finally, there’s going to be a sci-fi version of Spartacus, the true-story-turned-legend of a man imprisoned by the Romans and forced to fight for his freedom against his comrades in the arena. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Champion will be helmed by Taken franchise director Olivier Megaton and written by Dawson’s Creek alum Hal Oszan.
‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Has Its King Arthur
All those rumors and speculation have turned out to be true: Transformers: The Last Knight will indeed feature the King Arthur legend in some capacity, and they’ve found their Arthur. Liam Garrigan will play the Once and Future King, a role he’s quite comfortable with, seeing as he plays the same character on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Hopefully this doesn't mean he’ll end up in some niche typecasting hell, unable to find work until someone decides to reboot Excalibur or Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
‘Zombieland 2’ Is Happening. It Is. Definitely.
A sequel to the 2009 hit horror-comedy (but mostly comedy) Zombieland has been teased for some time, (there was even going to be an Amazon series at one point) but it wasn’t until earlier this year that the wheels seemed to have finally been set in motion. Via a surprise logo reveal, Zombieland 2 was officially announced at CinemaCon in April, with the writers who are also working on Deadpool 2 on board to pen the script.
The Trailer for ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ Is the Most Depressing Dog Reincarnation Movie You’ll See
Happy National Dog Day. Here’s a movie about a dog doomed to die and be reborn again and again so that he can… learn something about life? So that humans can be happy? Is there a shortage of dog souls to go around, so that by the time you pick up your new puppy from the shelter, mentally it’s probably already a grizzled old man looking down the barrel at the next twelve years of its life with exhaustion and regret?
We’re Going Into the Woods in the New Trailer for ‘Blair Witch’
It’s back to the woods we go in the newest trailer for ‘Blair Witch,’ the surprise sequel to The Blair Witch Project that had one of the coolest reveals in recent memory. Marketed as simply ‘The Woods,’ the film had an early screening at San Diego Comic Con, at which the real title and connection to the original film was announced. When the audience exited the theater after it was over, they saw that during the screening the big poster advertising ‘The Woods’ had been swapped for a ‘Blair Witch’ poster.
‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Plot Rumor All But Confirmed by Michael Bay’s Instagram
Transformers: The Last Knight, the latest in the Hasbro franchise, has been in production for a while, but Michael Bay and co. have mostly kept all plot details under wraps. One rumor made its way to the surface a few months ago, but it wasn't until today that it was pretty much confirmed. This could get a little spoiler-y, so proceed at your own risk.
John Krasinski Blames Chris Hemsworth’s Bod of Thunder for His Failed Captain America Audition
The Marvel Cinematic Universe, now in its eighth year, has been known to kickstart a lot of otherwise unknown actors’ careers, and give some their big break while rebooting others’ careers. While Robert Downey Jr. definitely had the biggest name at the start, it wasn’t easy for Jon Favreau to convince the Marvel execs that he was right for Tony Stark, but we’re all so glad he did. Chris Evans’ only other blockbuster credit was as the Human Torch in Fox’s Fantastic Four (2005) and its ill-fated sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), but his chiseled jawline soon landed him the title role in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.
