The search for an armed burglar who disappeared on Monday, November 9,is still ongoing, even after a suspect was taken into custody. The burglary occurred around 12:15 near 26th Street and the victim was threatened at gun point after finding his home ransacked.

“Detectives are still following up,” said Missoula Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Brenda Bassett. “They had a person in custody yesterday that they questioned. They did a photo line-up with the victim, but the person that they had in for questioning could not be identified by the victim. The person was released from custody and no arrests have been made.”

Originally, deputies and police officers were searching for a white male in his 30s or 40s standing about 5’8″ tall, last seen wearing a dark blue baseball cap a green American Eagle sweatshirt with jeans, and possibly wearing a back pack. Bassett says that description by the victim is still the one authorities are using as they investigate.
“Detectives are doing interviews today and hopefully pulling up surveillance video from local gas stations and maybe form the school, so they can see if anyone walked by with that description. Then, if there is, we will get that out to the public to hopefully identify the suspect.”

It is still unknown if the suspect stole anything from the property that was ransacked, that is one of the questions investigators hope to answer today.
