Buzz, Buzz, Buzz... that noise gets me every time. I start swatting, looking for a shadow, listening for where the buzz is coming from and getting ready to strike.

Bees are in full force around this time of year. I am not a fan of bees. I'm not allergic but I just don't like them. And it seems like they are getting more and more aggressive. As a matter of fact for my first time I witnessed a bee actually carry off a piece of steak the other night at a BBQ! Are bees bugging you too?

There are over 25,000 different species of bees in the world, 4,000 of which live in America. But did you know that there were no honey producing bees in America until settlers brought hives over from Europe?

Slate.com describes bees, hornets, and yellow jackets as "social insects." That's because they live in colonies, unlike many insect species who live out their short lives alone.

So be careful when you're being social this summer, or these social bugs may ruin your outdoor party, BBQ or wedding.
