Our homey and coworker Pat, who handles online marketing for our group of radio stations, nearly died yesterday on a ski hill.

Pat's snowboard hit a huge rock covered in snow in an area that should have been marked closed, but was not. He slammed head first into the ground and heard a horrific cracking noise and was convinced he'd broken his neck. Fortunately, the cracking was the sound of his helmet shattering and when Pat retrieved it, the dent was so deep that the helmet basically fell apart in his hands.

Our boy ended up with some very bruised ribs and an injured shoulder, but his noggin is completely in tact, thanks to his helmet. Proving once again, that helmets really do save lives. Pat is 100% convinced that he would be dead if it weren't for his helmet.
