Every Thursday, we serve up a special theme with our wildly popular '90s at Noon program, hosted by yours truly. This time, I'm reaching out to the fans for your input on this weeks program.

In the ear of '90s music, there were two revolutions in two different styles of music that everyone refers to as game-changers. Grunge brought in a new era for rock and roll with its heavy instrumentation and emotionally charged lyrics.  Rock was in a funny phase with hair bands wearing lipstick and singing silly ballads and party songs.

Grunge music made things hardcore again.

The other mainstream upheaval was in rap/hip-hop where Top 40 rap had become too polished, and focused on looks and dance moves.  Then Gangsta rap exploded in the 90s with its gritty depictions of life in urban America.  Yes, it was often violent, drug-fueled, and misogynistic.  But it’s probably more representative than this…
