By now you know that the band that was playing at the Bataclan Theater during the Paris attacks was Eagles Of Death Metal. In case you aren't familiar with the band, here are just a few quick facts to get you up to date.

The band's merch manager, Nick Alexander, was killed in the attacks, our thoughts and condolences go out to EODM and their families.

EODM's latest album is 'Zipper Down' and it's phenomenal, I highly recommend it, it's been in my CD player (yes, I still have one of those in my Jeep right next to my cassette player) since the day I bought it.

They are not a "death metal" band.

Their name is quite literal, they are the Eagles of death metal. Like "Hotel California" Eagles...but of death metal. Their music is actually very fun, they are a party rock band.

The connection to Queens Of The Stone Age.

Joshua Homme, lead singer and founding member of Queens Of The Stone Age, is half of Eagles Of Death Metal. In EODM, he is known as "Baby Duck" and was not with the band during the attacks. Josh doesn't always join the touring band and occasionally, they'll have guests at shows and on their albums, which includes Dave Grohl.

Side fact: Josh is married to Brody Dalle from the Distillers. Side side face: Brody used to be married to Tim Armstrong of Rancid.

The other half of the band.

The other half of EODM is Jesse "The Devil" Hughes, also known as "Boots Electric." As reporting continues about the Paris attacks, people are seeing the phrase "death metal" and Jesse's nickname and drawing inaccurate conclusions about the band. Jesse is actually a very fun loving, easy going nice guy. He and Joshua Homme are best friends.

    They love Missoula.

Queens of the Stone Age played a show at The Wilma in the summer of 2007. Naturally, Jesse Hughes was along for the ride and EODM partied hard in Missoula. Starting at the Rhino, stopping into Sean Kelly's for Irish Car Bombs, playing some pool at Red's and playing poker until dawn at the Oxford.

    The band is from Cali.

EODM cites Palm Desert, California as the place where the band got started in 1998.
