4th of July always a fun time for family and friends, but of course you want to practice safety first when lighting fireworks with the little ones. An alternate to lighting your own fireworks would be the fireworks set off in various locations throughout the area!

Below is a list of fireworks displays in our area:

In Seeley Lake, a pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire department. Parade line-up and registration are at 1 p.m., and the parade starts at 2 p.m. Red, White and Poo will take place at Seeley Lake Elementary School at 4 p.m. Duck races will be held on Wagon Wheel Drive at 4:30 p.m. Fireworks on Seeley Lake begin at 10:30 p.m.

In Hamilton, Fireworks show, dusk, Ravalli County Fairgrounds.

Check out Flathead fireworks, at Lone Pine State Park, which will remain open until 11 p.m. The overlook hill is a great place to see fireworks from Bigfork to Columbia Falls. Remember to bring a flashlight, but leave your own fireworks home as you cannot discharge them in the park.

Whitefish fireworks display, 10:30 p.m., City Beach. Call (406) 862-3501 or email visit@whitefishchamber.org.

Southgate Mall, and KECI-TV, will present the annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks starting at 9 p.m. Thursday. The celebration will take place in the parking lot west of Bob Ward & Sons and will include a performance by the Missoula City Band. It will conclude with western Montana’s largest fireworks display at about 10:30 p.m.
