The Chamberlin Rail Jam makes its way back to Missoula for the second year in a row on March 8 and March 9. What began as a project for an internship, has become one of, if not THE most popular winter event in Montana. That popularity is spreading from where it originated in Bozeman six years ago to Missoula. Here is what you need to know for Missoula's second-annual Chamberlin Rail Jam:

What: An epic event filled with big rails, music by Gramatik, Minnesota, Protohype, DCarls, a full bar, giveaways and a great time.

When: Friday, March 8: Prelims from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9: Finals from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the concert from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (After party at Monk's Bar, see below for details.)

Where:This high-energy event will be taking place in downtown Missoula's very own Caras Park (directions).

Tickets:General admission, along with VIP tickets, are on sale at Eventbrite.com. The sooner you buy the more money you'll save, so get to it. Day-of-event tickets will also be available at the gate.

Registration: If you are looking to compete there are still slots open.You must register by March 1 though. There's a $30 fee, which includes admission to the event along with some sweet swag.

After Party: The official after party will be Saturday, March 9 at Monk’s Bar featuring performances by Eliot Lipp and Ebrola Syndicate. The music will begin at 9:30 p.m. and admission is $15 at the door.
