As summer draws to a close, I start to feel that steady growth of anticipation that only comes when the temperatures start to cool and the colors change from green to a mixture of reds, oranges and yellows. There's a certain kind of magic that flows through the air during the fall that is almost palpable.

To me, it's a combination of cool wind whipping through my hair, a nonfat pumpkin spiced latte warming my hand and my super cute over the knee boots that are the cherry on top of a perfect fall outfit! Just thinking about it makes my heart race...

So here are my Top 10 reasons I'm beyond ready for fall:

  • 1

    Hallelujah It's Rainin' Leaves

If this is your first fall in Missoula then believe me you're in for a real treat. If you're a longtime Missoulian then you know what's about to happen. Almost overnight the trees will change from green to a mixture of reds, oranges and bright yellows. As the season progresses you'll experience the magic that is raining leaves, especially in the University district. The magic is a combination of sunlight and an easy breeze that causes a whirlwind of color so beautiful it will take your breath away...

    Pumpkin Flavored Everything

My unhealthy obsession for all pumpkin flavored things might classify me as a 'basic bitty' but that's a badge I'll wear with no shame! It doesn't matter if it's a nonfat (lol) pumpkin spiced latte, a pumpkin ale or a straight up pumpkin pie, I'll take it all! Gimme gimme... (***Just a reminder that Starbucks is bottling pumpkin spiced lattes this year and they will be on grocery store shelves at the end of August! #Blessed)

    Griz Football Baby

Growing up in a family with two older brothers who were low key football studs, I developed a true love for the game! The bond that the players have on and off the field is so much fun to watch and after being surrounded by these guys my whole life, I've become fluent in meathead! It's actually more useful than you'd think! lol Personally I think football is one of the most fun games to watch and there is truly no other place I'd rather see a game than Washington Grizzly stadium... #FightUniteWin

    Cuddle Buddy Weather

Single or not, fall is the BEST for snuggling up to another human being! It's cold enough so you're not sweating all over each other but not SO cold that your kneecaps freeze! Nope, fall is the perfect combination of sunlight and slightly cooler temps that makes dressing up easy and finding a cuddle buddy even easier...

    New Look, Who Dis?

Oh how I love shopping for fall attire! I'm all about the chunky sweater, skinny jean and over the knee boot trend that literally every female in America can pull off! The jean/boot combo is flattering for all figures and when you combine it with a chunky sweater in your favorite color, how can you go wrong!? Plus who doesn't love a guy in dark straight jeans and a crew neck sweater?? #Swoon

Fall Decorations Can Last 3 Months

If you're like me, then you appreciate a good decorative piece. I've got fall decoration shopping down to an art! Personally, I started dusting off my fall decorations weeks ago and I already have my eye on a couple new pieces at our trusty Michales off of Reserve. And the best part about decorating for fall is that each piece can be dressed up for Halloween and then cleaned off a little for Thanksgiving! That's 3 months of use every year! Talk about a good justification to keep expanding your collection...

    Picture Perfect

Montana in the fall is by far one of the most picturesque places on earth. And adding your cute little kiddo to the mix practically guarantees a perfect picture. So instead of the basic background school picture this year, have some fun with it! Mother Nature has provided you with the most beautiful backdrop in the world! Plus I'm a firm believer that everyone looks better surrounded by fall colors...

    Countdown To Halloween

Let's be honest, as soon as September hits the countdown to Halloween officially begins. I'm a firm believer that you're either a Halloween person or a Christmas person. The amount of commitment it takes to celebrate each holiday the right way only allows for you to be one. And you better believe yo' girl is all about Halloween! I love it all, the weather, creepy decorations, haunted houses, scary movie marathons, coming up with a costume and of course my infamous Halloween bash. There is no such thing as too much Halloween and it all kicks off on September 1st...

    Scary Movie Marathons

For the record, I recognize that I'm like one of three people in the world who actually loves scary movies. But scary movies are just too good to pass up when the days get shorter and the nights get longer and the wind picks up enough to rattle your window pane and send chills up your spine! Nothin' gets my heart racing like an old school horror flick. If you're looking for suggestions, here are SOME of my favorites:

    • The Shinning
    • The Silence of the Lambs
    • Signs
    • The Strangers
    • Paranormal Activity

    Wood Crackling Candles

Honestly I don't think life gets much better than coming home from an afternoon Griz football game, snuggling up with a warm blanket and a good book or movie and lighting a wood wicked candle from Pier 1. I'm THAT person who can be easily bought with an expensive candle and I'm not ashamed about it. The easy light, soothing fragrance and steady crackle of one of these candles makes it really hard to have a bad day...

Top 4 places w/ the best assortment of wood wicked candles are:

    1. Pier 1
    2. Bath & Body Works (Southgate Mall)
    3. Target
    4. Bed Bath & Beyond - Not really sure about wood wicked candles, but they have an AMAZING Yankee Candle section! #Swoon
